My Body Myself

This body of work serves as a series of body positivity posters by challenging western cultural ideas of beauty and celebrating the embodied female spirit. These prints aim to address various ideas and issues pertaining to the female form in relation to its’ exploitation in the context of both modern society (through advertising and the perpetuation of societal norms) and historically in art (such as the portrayal of the body as a landscape). Inspired by protest, advocacy, and female empowerment, the concept of this work is built around the idea that the body and the self are one and that the two should both be celebrated and treated with the same respect.
