“Artificial” is a series created around the examination of my conception through the process of In Vitro Fertilization with a donor oocyte. This collection of graphics, photographs, and documents examines my artificial creation and the impact this knowledge and its implications have had on my life.
This project explores my identity as I address a variety of ideas, from the personal issues of self, family, genetics, parenting, and love, to the larger legal and societal issues of modern advertising, privacy, the ethics of assisted reproductive technologies, and influences by the medical industry.
